Guerrero Negro is tricky to get to but well worth the effort as it is the main mating and calving lagoon with the highest number of whales(up to 2,000)& we have the highest concentration of friendly whales. It is a huge lagoon with 3 different areas of observation and fewer boats.

If you are driving from the north or flying into San Diego and renting a car, it is about an 8-9 hour drive down from the border down the new nice highway 5 and you can choose a hotel in San Felipe if you stop there.

International flights into Loreto   There are flights from LA and Calgary and you can rent a car. It is a beautiful  6 hour drive to Guerrero Negro … or it’s easy to take the bus too but you need to stay the night in Loreto to take a morning bus. There are 2 nice hotels across from the bus depot in Loreto.

The hotel our guests stay in is beside the bus terminal in Guerrero Negro or take a taxi to our office at BAja Magic 5 minutes away. We provide transport in our vans to and from the lagoon so you really don’t need a car unless you want to make a vacation out of it, see the sights and stop different place along the way. It is fun to stay a night in Loreto and see the Mission.

WestJet   to Loreto  from Canada now flying nonstop from Calgary to Loreto!  Oct-June   2-3  days per week. Currently  Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Aerocalafia flies from Tijuana or La Paz direct to Loreto. Walk or taxi over Border. Tues, Thursdays, and Sundays.  They also fly right into Guerrero Negro from Guaymas and Hermosillo www.aereocalafia.com.mx
